Shoutouts from the Berlin Marathon

I’m a week late in posting this but congrats to all our Academy members and coaching clients on running the Berlin Marathon this year. I wish I could have been there!

Cecilia from Sweden earned a PR on a hot day!

“My finish time of 4:11:49 was slower than I had hoped for BUT only after the finish I fully realized how tough conditions had been . . . I still ran a PR of almost 5 minutes ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿป! So in the end I am super happy about the race and the result! Just need to find a cooler one for my next attempt of getting closer to that 4 hour mark ๐Ÿ˜Š! And of course, I need to send huge thanks to MTA coach Joel Royal Pearson who has put up with me for over 3 years now ๐Ÿ˜‰. Without him I would never be in this place today!”

Sarah from Germany also earned a PR (by nearly 70 minutes) Yesterday’s Berlin marathon was a tough cookie but thankfully I was able to get through it, even if I didn’t manage my A-goal of under 3:50:00. I can confirm what everyone else reported about the weather: it was hot, humid and exhausting ๐Ÿฅต . . . After that I managed to get into the zone at a good pace and just put one foot in front of the other until I crossed the finish line. My official time was 4:03:15. Since this was only my second marathon and on my first (Berlin 2019) I ran a time of 5h 10min, I did PB by nearly 70 minutes ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ’ช. Thanks to the amazing MTA coach Athena Farias for helping me get this far. I couldn’t have done it without you!

Tom from the US ran PR of 3:58:29!. Here’s what his coach had to say,

“We would like to congratulate Thomas L. who had an outstanding training cycle, and capped it with a lifetime PR of 3:58:29 under very warm conditions !!! Great job Thomas !!!” -Coach Antonio

Debbie from Texas finished her 4th World Major
