Revel Kulia is retired! I am so bummed that the race will not be run in 2021. I am a long time listener and I am on the 50 state quest. 14 left: Hawaii, Alaska, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Michigan, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, West VA, and MASS! Any suggestions for those states?

Hi Stephanie! It’s exciting to hear that you’re starting to plan out your remaining states. I was very sorry to hear that Revel Kulia was retired too. We talked to a guy who’d run a marathon on every island in Hawaii and his favorite was the Kauai Marathon (most scenic). For Maine I did Mount Desert Island which is beautiful. The Manchester Marathon in NH is the largest running event in that state and they put on a solid event. I really enjoyed the Charlevoix Marathon in Michigan (beautiful and mostly flat course). Washington state has so many great races, the North Olympic Discovery Marathon was enjoyable. The Missoula Marathon in MT is fantastic, especially if you’re looking for a medium size race that ends in the city. The Madison Marathon in MT is absolutely gorgeous but very small and rural. I did the Hatfield-McCoy Marathon for WV and it’s a lot of fun. I ended up choosing a lot of my marathons for convenience and would always read reviews over on Marathon Guide. Keep up the awesome work!
