Coach, Peer, Supporter
I was so happy that she didn’t scoff at my goal or tell me it was out of reach. I felt like I had a coach, peer, and supporter behind me immediately, and we got to work.She’s always quick to answer any of my questions, give me positive reinforcement, and ground me when I need grounding or a little reality check (for example, no, it is not a good idea to run a marathon a few weeks after a marathon if your goal marathon is just few months away lol).
She makes sure I’m prepared for every race, aware of the twists, turns, weather, and winds. She has been consistent with her coaching and “let’s get to work” attitude, which, in turn, has helped keep me consistent and motivated in my running.
Almost 30 minutes off my marathon
With this work, Coach Kris has helped me take almost 30 minutes off of my marathon time and lead me just seconds away from my goal (which I am confident I’ll hit at my next race in September!).But meeting these short-term goals has only been a part of what her coaching has brought me. She’s always pushed me just enough, so I’ve stayed injury-free and healthy. She’s helped keep my ultimate goal of longevity at the forefront (I hope I still have decades of running ahead of me). But most importantly, she’s helped me reestablish my relationship with myself as an athlete, for which I am immensely grateful.
