Abundance at the St. George Marathon

Congrats to our client Bill Drinkward on running his fastest marathon yet! He ran 3:04 at the St. George Marathon in Utah after recovering from a series of injuries and setbacks over the last two years.

“Abundance is the word that swirled in my mind on my recent 59th birthday. . . After a debilitating series of injuries two years ago, I thought speed might never return to such a level for me. And yet a recipe of raising capability, curiosity, confidence and a splash of delusion was enough to deliver a banger result in hard conditions at St George.

All of this would not have been possible without the diligent guidance of MTA coach Steven Waldon through several training cycles. His program over the last 12 weeks challenged me to train as hard as ever and believe in my growing capacities. My fitness is at a place which creates a feeling of “drinking the oxygen as I breathe it in”.

I told Coach Steven before the race that no matter how race day would go, I already reacquired with his program what I wanted most…the extraordinary level of fitness returning within. I am so grateful to him. . .

The moment of reunion with my family in the finisher area is a glorious memory I will savor for life. Yes…running a marathon can change your life as some wise folks I know have said before.” -Bill Drinkward
