Health and fitness should be simple and practical. From moving with meaning to lifting the weights with efficiency and perfect form, that is how improving your physical fitness should be. On the other hand, packing your stuff in a bag, climbing in your car, and traveling for miles just to go to your gym is not.
Add that to the hassle of everyday life due to work and household chores, taking care of yourself seems to morph into another source of stress. How can you stay healthy and fit when the added stress to your workout routine exists? If you want to get rid of the boring stuff and go straight to working out whenever you want, then you might want to consider building your very own home gym.
Owning a home gym resolves many issues, and the benefit it has far outweighed the downside of not having one. If you’re still considering building a home gym, then maybe the following reasons will convince you.
Do you have social anxiety or just want to work out without someone watching your every move or waiting for you to finish using the machine?
It makes you self-conscious, resulting in you losing focus. However, with a home gym, you don’t have to be self-conscious ever. Of course, except when you invite someone over. With a home gym, you won’t have anyone criticizing your every move or watching you toil your way around the machine. Also, there won’t be any distractions since you’re alone.
From packing your things in a duffel bag and climbing to your car to driving to your local gym, everything you do takes time. Not only that, if you’re that unlucky, the gym might be packed with a lot of people, especially during the approach of summer.
If that happens, you won’t even be sure if your favorite machine is available. Have you ever made that awkward stand while you’re waiting in line for your machine? Everyone has, and it’s annoying.
It would certainly be easier for us to just get up from a chair, change clothes, and go to our home gym to start our routine. That’s possible for a home gym. With a home gym, you won’t have to travel for miles and wait for your machine. When you feel like working out, you can do that any time because the gym is in your home. And since it’s in your home, it is available 24/7.
The best thing about it is that you don’t have to worry about scheduling that much anymore. If you cut off the travel time and the time for your machine to be available, you’ll save a lot of time in your hands. So if you’re constantly carving off time for other things just to workout with a home gym, you don’t have to worry about that anymore.
Commercial gyms are owned by companies looking for profit. They do this by selling people memberships. On average, thousands of Americans pay hundreds of dollars per year just to have the chance of using the gym’s space, tools, and machinery to be fit and healthy. It’s only just for a year! It’s crazy when you think about it.
Not only that, some memberships still require you to pay even if you don’t go to the gym that much. It’s not cost-effective and is a huge waste of money. And some gyms don’t even offer refunds.
Of course, some gyms offer pay-as-you-go plans for you to save money, but in reality, it’s still costly. And that’s not even talking about the other optional costs you’ll spend in the gym like trainers, the food bar, etc.
If you compare that to building a home gym, then the latter is much more financially practical. Sure, you’re not going to use your home gym every time, but it beats paying for memberships. To be fair, the costs of building a home gym are not cheap either, but it’s only for once. And with the time and money you’ll be saving when you have a home gym, it’s certainly appealing.
Have you ever experienced being the next in line for your favorite machine and the one who used it before you were all sweaty and smelly? Sure, it’s normal in a gym, but if you’re big on hygiene, this might scare you off.
Not to mention the germs and bacteria that people have might be passed on to you once you use that machine. With a home gym, you won’t have to worry about that. You’re the only one using your machine, so you don’t have to worry about getting another person’s germs and bacteria.
The benefits of having a home gym far outweighs the disadvantage of building a home gym. Most people are only scared of it because of the costs. But it’s only for once, and when you take good care of them, you won’t have to worry about maintenance and repairs.
When you compare that to membership costs and other expenses that go with it, having a home gym is far more appealing. Moreover, there are a lot of cheap and top-quality workout machines out there like barbend best treadmills and rowing machines. All you have to do is to look for them online.
