What Happens When You Take Action

Here is a wonderful note we received from a client Angie worked with named Elliot Shelton who ran a PR at the CIM Marathon in December. I love this story because he took bold massive action and wasn’t afraid to set higher goals.

Dear Angie, I wanted to take a moment to thank you and Trevor for the incredible difference you’ve made in my life. About 3 1/2 years ago, I was unhappy with the direction my life was headed. I was about 30 lbs overweight, had not exercised regularly in years, and had few interests outside of work.

I decided to take action. I started a couch to 5k plan and a month later decided to set my goals higher and I committed to running the San Francisco Marathon the following year (without really knowing what I was getting myself into).

What Happens When You Take Action

In search of answers, I stumbled onto your podcast, and I’ve been a regular listener ever since! After listening for a while, I decided to sign up for the personal coaching, and what a great decision that was! With 3 kids, and a demanding job, it was incredible helpful to have someone else create a weekly training plan and provide answers to all my questions.

Fast forward 3 years later and I’ve completed over 20 races, including 4 marathons. My kids have developed an interest as well, completing a total of 7 kids Spartan races with more on the calendar for 2019.

I’ve discovered the wonderful running community and forged several new friendships. Being “a runner” has become a part of my identify, and I’m incredibly grateful for this added richness to my life.

I feel like I truly embody the tagline “you have what it takes to run a marathon and change your life!” Thank you (and Trevor) for all your help. I can’t imagine doing this without you.

Regards,

Elliot Shelton, California
