Congrats to our client Jill R. from Finland on completing the Stockholm Marathon! She sent in this race report:
“I ran the Stockholm Marathon a few weeks ago and had an amazing experience, the atmosphere was unlike anything I have experienced in previous marathons.
The course went through the inner city of Stockholm and there were crowds cheering you on all the way. They had a record number of runners, and that was definitely noticeable as some parts could have been organized better.
I managed to finish the marathon in 4:32, which was 15 minutes faster than my marathon fast year.
But for me, the most important part about the marathon was the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. There was no wall, no feeling of hopelessness or lack of energy, I felt happy and strong. One might even ask if I even ran a marathon because it felt so easy?

For me, the marathon was the reward at the end of a tough training cycle. I have truly enjoyed working with Coach Cindy. My purpose for starting the coaching with Marathon Training Academy was that I wanted to understand myself better and find out how much I can push myself without getting hurt.
Cindy has helped me stay injury free while still beating my previous record of kilometres run in a week and in a month. I know now that I’m capable of so much more than I thought, and I feel that this is the beginning of a new chapter in my fitness life.
As a mom and a manager with a stressful job where I have to make decisions all the time, I’ve been really grateful for Cindy’s structure and planning. She has made sure I run enough but not too much, she has reminded me of the importance of nutrition, sleep and maintaining stress. All I have had to do is lace up my shoes and run, which happens to be my favorite part of training.”
